Ximena is a senior majoring in Economics with a certificate in Statistics and Data Science. Originally from Mexico City, she moved to San Diego, CA at a young age and cherishes her childhood spent by the beach and outdoors. One of her favorite parts of Yale is being on the sailing team. During her junior year, she was elected Team Captain and is excited for her final season on one of the top sailing teams in the nation. Over the summer, Ximena worked with the Institution for Women in Migration, a non-profit offering legal assistance to immigrants passing through Mexico who have been displaced by climate crises and are en route to the United States. As a Mexican-American, she is deeply committed to helping disadvantaged community members access the same opportunities her parents provided for her and her four brothers when they moved to the U.S.
