At the 2015 World Economic Forum, the International Sustainable Campus Network (ISCN) in collaboration with the Global University Leader Forum (GULF) shared exemplary campus sustainability case studies provided by 25 of the world’s leading universities. This state-of-the-art report is focused on educating future leaders by full immersion in a “living laboratory” environment for sustainability.
In addition to best practice cases from leading schools, Peter Bakker, President and CEO of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), provided a foreword that encourages the dialogue between universities and corporations on developing sustainability skills needed by future business leaders.

The ISCN provides a global forum to support leading colleges, universities, and corporate campuses in the exchange of information, ideas, and best practices for achieving sustainable campus operations and integrating sustainability in research and teaching.
Five years ago, the ISCN partnered with GULF, bringing together the heads of 26 top global universities, to develop the ISCN-GULF Sustainable Campus Charter. Organized into 3 core principles, the Charter requires a commitment at the highest level of the institution, and includes annual reporting on sustainability goals, initiatives, and performance. To date, presidents of more than 65 schools have endorsed the Charter.
