2013 Celebrate Sustainability Day-by-Day Schedule
We are pleased to announce that Celebrate Sustainability, the sustainability-based week of events, will take place April 20-26, 2013. Celebrate Sustainability provides an opportunity to discuss environmental, social, and economic priorities and accomplishments through a series of speakers and activities across campus. The theme of Celebrate Sustainability 2013 is Sustainability Leadership.
Celebrate Sustainability Photo Contest
As part of Celebrate Sustainability week, the Yale Office of Sustainability is hosting a photo contest in which students, faculty and staff can submit photos of "celebrating sustainability.”
Capture images of an event, your garden, a wind turbine, music… whatever images represent the celebration of sustainability to you. Creative ideas are always welcome!
Photos should be posted via Instagram @yalesustainability with the caption #celebratesustainability or emailed to sustainability@yale.edu (subject line ‘photo contest) for the chance to win a local free dinner for two or a week of coffee!
Celebrate Sustainability 2013 events will contribute to a multi-dimensional and campus-wide discussion of the following questions:
- What is sustainability leadership? What does a leadership role entail?
- What are best practices in sustainability leadership; how are these being implemented on Yale’s campus by the Yale community?
- Who are the people and what are the stories behind successful Yale sustainability-related initiatives?
- How can groups around campus be empowered with sustainability knowledge to act and lead in their respective realms? What variety of forms can leadership take?
