Ginger Chapman

Current Responsibilities: Ginger Chapman is the Director of the Office of Sustainability providing leadership and management to ensure the integration of sustainable principles and practices across the university. Her expertise in building planning, design, and construction provide the focus of her responsibilities including university design standards (such as healthy materials, embodied energy, water use, efficient space use, and energy efficiency among others). She provides input and guidance on capital projects; provides training opportunities for facilities staff; input on strategies for efficient campus growth and works with facilities staff on sustainable approaches to maintenance and operations.  Other on-campus decarbonization efforts to achieve climate neutrality are also part of her portfolio as well as consideration of how off-campus verified emissions reductions might apply towards Yale’s neutrality goals.
