Yale Facilities releases the 2013 Sustainability Supplement to the Framework for Campus Planning

September 11, 2013

The 2013 Sustainability Supplement to the Framework for Campus Planning is now available from Yale Facilities. The creation of the Supplement fulfilled a goal in the Campus Planning, Building Design, and Construction section of the Sustainability Strategic Plan 2010-2013. A Framework for Campus Planning was published in 2000 and serves as the guideline for all campus planning and development. The 2013 Supplement enhances the original publication with the university’s commitment to sustainability.

The Supplement was created to address sustainability in a comprehensive way to guide in-house and external consultants to integrate sustainability into all aspects of campus planning and development. The document contains overarching sustainability planning principles and specific recommendations for sustainable planning and design across the campus built environment. It also includes a section that addresses precinct-by-precinct sustainability recommendations for Yale’s eight planning precincts: Core Campus, Broadway/Tower Parkway, Hillhouse, Science Hill, Upper Prospect, Medical Center, Athletic Fields, and West Campus.
