Yale’s 2011 Greenhouse Gas Reduction Report is out! In 2005, the University pledged to achieve its greenhouse gas commitment to reduce emissions 43% below 2005 levels by 2020. The development of this comprehensive 15-year plan will become possible through measures such asincreasing efficiency of Yale’s on-campus power plants, adhering to sustainable construction and renovation, and utilizing new sustainable energy sources. To this date, Yale has reduced its emission 11.5% below 2005 levels while at the same time increasing campus size by 11% and population size by 13.3%.
